JOB OVERVIEW:

Delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms and resident condominiums according to Resort specifications, courteously and efficiently.  Also assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment.

REPORTS TO:      Assistant F&B Manager

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:                    Staff in Room Service, Bar, Kitchen/Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, Front Desk, Sales and Banquet/Catering Department.

 

External:                   Resort guest/visitors and residents guest/visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Essential:

  • Minimum of  18  years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 1 year(s) experience as a Room Service Server.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non verbal.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Provide legible communication.
  • Ability to:
  • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • prioritize and organize.
  • be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • follow directions thoroughly.
  • understand guest and resident’s service needs.
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • work with minimal supervision.
  • maintain confidentiality of guest and resident information and pertinent resort data.

 

Desirable:

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  • Previous experience in Room Service.
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
  • Certification in CPR
  • Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
  • Ability to suggestively sell.
  • Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.
  • Previous guest and resident relations training.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
 

Essential:

  1. 1. Exert physical effort in transporting 5 pounds to 10 pounds
  2. 2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  3. 3. Reach 10 inches/feet.
  4. 4. Remain in stationary position for 10 minutes/hours throughout work shift.
  5. 5. Satisfactorily communicate with guest and residents, management and co-workers to their understanding.
