Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: Acqualina Resort & Residences on The Beach, Sunny Isles Beach

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Executive Chef

Job Overview:

As a Sous Chef at Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our world-class dining experience. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation. Your leadership, creativity, and expertise will help us deliver an unforgettable culinary experience for our guests

Key Responsibilities:

1. Kitchen Management:

   - Assist the Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations.

   - Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality food preparation.

   - Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s standards.

2. Food Preparation and Cooking:

   - Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Executive Chef.

   - Assist in the development and refinement of recipes and menu items.

   - Ensure consistency and quality of dishes.

3. Staff Supervision:

   - Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff.

   - Schedule shifts and manage kitchen personnel to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.

   - Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.

4. Inventory and Ordering:

   - Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.

   - Monitor and control food waste to maximize profitability.

   - Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working condition.

5. Food Safety and Hygiene:

   - Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

   - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.

   - Ensure that all staff follow proper hygiene practices.

6. Guest Experience:

  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Address any guest feedback or special requests with professionalism and a focus on exceeding expectations.

7.Menu Development:

  • Participate in the creation and refinement of the resort’s menu, incorporating innovative techniques and luxurious presentations.
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal menus, special events, and themed dining experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar high-end culinary role within a luxury hotel or resort setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience, with a strong portfolio of upscale dining.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering an extraordinary dining experience.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
