JOB OVERVIEW:
Clean and maintain all items and surfaces in designated areas, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness.
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager/Director
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Maintain cleanliness of all floors in heart of house area (main hallway, IRD office, Acqualicious, HR office, banquet and pastry kitchen). Maintain cleanliness of and replenish all staff locker rooms accordingly.
Internal: Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Manager, Floor Supervisors, Floor Attendants, Linen/Laundry Staff and Engineering.
External: Hotel guests/visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Ability to:
- perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- prioritize and organize.
- be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
- follow directions thoroughly.
- understand guest’s service needs.
- work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- work with minimal supervision.
- maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in cleaning public buildings.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
- Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience in hospitality industry in similar position.
- Previous guest relations training.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Essential:
- 1. Exert physical effort in transporting up to 40 pounds.
- 2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- 3. Reach 8’ inches/feet.
- 4. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
